Weight Loss Accountability


An accountability partner is a small group of two or more individuals checking in on each other every week with minimum fuss. This may happen through email, internet, or other methods which will function best for the group. Starting your own weight loss accountability partner program is advantageous because for one it's completely free.

You are accountable to someone else when you start a weight loss accountability program. You are accountable to maintain your end of the bargain - to lose weight. And when you do lose weight you are accountable to yourself to maintain it. The end of the bargain is pretty easy; healthy eating and exercise. The hard part is maintaining the end of the bargain!

So how do you stay committed to weight loss accountability? Start small. Start by posting a daily goal for yourself and setting an appointment to work towards that goal. If you cannot make that appointment every day, at least have it every second day. Make those appointments a positive reflection on your life. Start out small, so you don't feel overwhelmed.

Once you have a weekly goal, write it down, include a time, and post it in front of your accountability partner. Encourage your accountability partner to keep that goal and post it every morning. Then, start adding some fun to your weekly goals. Play with your goals by making them fun and rewarding so you stay motivated.

Once you have your weekly goal, you can begin setting goals for yourself. Remember, when you're accountable to yourself, your success is all about you. Make your weight loss program about yourself. You alone are in control. Be sure that your coach is someone you respect who has the same goals as you.

Your accountability partner will benefit from your help and input, because it gives him something to strive for as well. Your accountability partner is not alone in the journey. He has an accountability partner with you and he will also benefit from your added motivation to lose weight. Your accountability partner has the same goals as you do and he will work hard to get there faster than you will.

Remember, this whole weight loss accountability and support journey are about you and how you feel. Allow yourself to be completely honest with your accountability partner and with yourself. Let those emotions and feelings guide you on your way. Keep your motivation high and your determination to succeed.

Stay connected during your weight loss accountability and support journey. Ask for their advice on what needs to be done. Ask them what they did to reach their goals and how they stay motivated. The goal here is to keep moving forward on your weight loss journey.

Ask your weight loss accountability partner to check-in with you every week. Set up a time and place for check-in. You can even set up a time and place for each of you to check-in when you are home or have some free time. Set up your appointments so that you have at least a few hours of the connections between each of you.

Your accountable weight loss partner needs to know what healthy eating goals are for you. Include in your accountability statement things you need to do to reach your healthy eating goals and what healthy eating behaviors you will engage in. You might also want to include exercise routines. Talk with your weight loss accountability partner about your healthy eating goals and your exercise routines.

Be consistent. You will find that your weight loss accountability plan will be more effective if you are consistent. It takes someone else to accept responsibility for your part. If you do not ask for help, you will not get it.

Learn how to rely on others. In addition to checking in with your accountability partner, you will also need to learn to rely on your own motivation and drive to stick with your healthy eating and exercise routine. When you trust yourself to make the right choices, you are more likely to make those choices. This includes when it comes to food and eating behaviors. Your weight loss accountability partner is there to help you build motivation, but you need to show your partner that you can also rely on them to keep you accountable!
